Shen Yun returns to the UK in 2027 with an all-new production celebrating classical Chinese dance, music, mythology and storytelling.

Based in New York and featuring artists from around the world, Shen Yun is a classical Chinese dance company known for large-scale touring productions that combine dance, live orchestral music, colourful costumes and animated digital backdrops.

Each performance is made up of around 20 short pieces, moving from legends, dynasties and regions to scenes of court dance, heroic battles and heavenly realms. The production blends classical Chinese dance with original music and visual stagecraft, creating a theatrical journey through thousands of years of traditional Chinese culture.

The Shen Yun Orchestra combines Western symphonic music with traditional Chinese instruments, bringing together the grandeur of a Western orchestra with distinctive Chinese melodies and rhythms.

Shen Yun describes its work as a revival of traditional Chinese culture before communism, and its productions may include spiritual themes alongside stories of courage, faith, persecution and hope.

Each season features a new programme, with fresh choreography, costumes, music and digital backdrops.
